Abstract

This paper is focused on the obtaining of materials based on ZnTa2O6 and ZnNb2O6 both doped with V2O5, by solid state method. To characterize the obtained materials XRD, SEM/EDAX, AFM and UV-Vis analysis were performed. The morphology of the two materials revealed a rod like shape of the particles with more ordered alignment of particles for the second material. EDAX experiments confirmed the structure and composition of the two compounds. UV-Vis analysis was done and further the band gap for each of the materials was determined, having the following values: 4.03 eV and 4.06 eV.
